How this GitHub status is measured

PageWarden monitors GitHub from its own infrastructure to give an objective read on its status. Every 5 minutes we request github.com from our US region and verify that it responds correctly and within a normal time. Because the check runs from our servers, not your device, a status of up while you cannot reach GitHub points at your own network, DNS or browser.

GitHub is where developers host code, review pull requests and run CI. If github.com is unreachable, pushes, pulls, Actions and the web interface are usually affected.
