Last updated: {{LEGAL_LAST_UPDATED}}

{{COMPANY_LEGAL_NAME}} ("PageWarden", "we", "us") operates the PageWarden uptime-monitoring service at app.getpagewarden.com and this website at getpagewarden.com. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. Questions: {{SUPPORT_EMAIL}}.

Who we are

The data controller is {{COMPANY_LEGAL_NAME}}, {{COMPANY_ADDRESS}}, {{COMPANY_JURISDICTION}}. Contact: {{SUPPORT_EMAIL}}.

What we collect

  • Account data: your name, email address, and authentication credentials (passwords are stored hashed; magic-link sign-in is supported).
  • Monitoring configuration: the URLs, domains, hosts, ports, and check settings you ask us to monitor, and the alert destinations you configure (email addresses, webhook/Slack/Discord URLs).
  • Monitoring results: check results, response times, status codes, incident records, and certificate/domain metadata generated by running your checks.
  • Billing data: plan and subscription status. Card payments are processed by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers.
  • Usage and device data: pages visited, actions taken, IP address, browser/device info, collected via analytics and error monitoring to operate and improve the service.
  • Communications: messages you send us (e.g. support email).

How we use it

  • To provide the monitoring service, run your checks, detect incidents, and send alerts.
  • To authenticate you and secure your account.
  • To process subscriptions and billing.
  • To operate, debug, secure, and improve the service.
  • To communicate service, security, and (where permitted) product updates.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

Legal bases (where GDPR/UK GDPR applies): performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, your consent (where required, e.g. certain analytics), and compliance with law.

Subprocessors

We use third parties to run the service. Confirm and keep this list current: {{SUBPROCESSOR_LIST}} — for example: cloud hosting and database, background-job infrastructure, transactional email delivery, payment processing, product analytics, and error monitoring. Each processes data only to provide its service to us. A current list is available on request at {{SUPPORT_EMAIL}}.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the subprocessors above, where required by law, or in connection with a business transfer, in each case under appropriate safeguards.

International transfers

Where data is transferred across borders, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) as required by applicable law.

Retention

We keep account and configuration data while your account is active. Monitoring history is retained per your plan's retention window and then deleted or aggregated. We retain limited data as needed for legal, security, and billing purposes. You can delete your account from Settings, which removes your account and associated data subject to those limited exceptions.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to object or withdraw consent. To exercise them, contact {{SUPPORT_EMAIL}}. You may also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority.

Security

We use industry-standard measures including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and access controls. No method is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data.

Cookies and analytics

We use strictly necessary cookies to run the site and product, and analytics to understand usage. Where required, we ask for consent. See {{COOKIE_DETAILS_OR_BANNER}}.

Children

The service is not directed to children under {{CHILD_AGE_LIMIT}} and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy; we will post the new date above and, for material changes, notify you. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
